Modeling and Simulation of road intersections
We present recent results on the modeling and the analysis of traffic flow models for road networks. We consider scalar and systems of hyperbolic equations for describing traffic on roads and discuss possibilities of extending these models to road networks. The arising problems are nonlinear hyperbolic boundary value problems and we present results on well-posedness for a large class of models. We discuss how these models can be used in optimal routing problems and present some numerical results.
